If you can then get your headshot to ‘communicate’ with the viewer you then have a very powerful marketing tool for you and your client. Communication works in an instance and is processed using our unconscious. Briefly our unconscious does all the heavy duty lifting in translating facial gestures and aural sounds into commands it has to react to. In primitive terms its either fight, flight or mate and it makes those decisions in milliseconds without the need of a conscious process. Casting shots need to attract the attention of the person looking at them. With the right “look” you can achieve more than a 70% + chance of your headshot being chosen over another comparable picture in that casting bracket.
